wow, i have been to henderson's often enough and i haven't had any problems. i find the food really good and it's way cheaper than most places downtown. the sandwiches are awesome!!

I have wirked in the building where Henderson Cafe is located for a number of years and I have to say that I am very disappointed in the review it has recieved. I eat there every day and find the staff to be very friendly and co-operative at all times. Of course there is illness, what business doesn't have a sick employee at any given time but at least the staff is always there. As to the comment about the phone and counting cups...they are a very small business that does a phenominal amount of catering and of course they have to take the orders...over the phone? who would have thought, and they do have to get the codiments ready for the order. There are very few times that I have ever seen the staff not wash their hands, there is sanitizer that they use and are forever cleaning the work surfaces and cleaning cloths. This review had to have been submitted by someone with a very big grudge to bear and I do not understand where it comes from. If the Cafe was that poorly maintained...I doubt very much that it would have been able to stay open for the 7 or so years that it has been there. I say kuddos to the owners, management and staff for doing such a good job with the limited space they have to work with, AND, they handle every unexpected situation with diplomacy wheather you wear a suit or sweats, work there or are just off the street. Even the street people treat the staff with respect because they get treated that way...everyone is equal there and that is the way we like it.

If you are in the mood for food with a little special something then this is the place. It maybe a hair or an illness, you just don't know. No hair nets, no hand washing, and working with money and back to food is the extra treat we all want. I had the pleasure of watching a worker sneeze into her hands, the pull out the vicks tube, shove it up her nose and then proceed to hand out soup. In addition to the many hairs in the food, you get to stand in a busy line while a worker counts cups or talks on the phone instead of providing customer service. I actually do not know why this place isn't shut down.
